Ben WIJNEN (1961 / Bernheze / The Netherlands), lives and works in Pietrasanta (Italy).

From childhood on, WIJNEN did make drawings, inevitable with the eye of a sculptor. Besides working with marble, he also makes small models in clay, outlines for his marblepieces.

In the Provence WIJNEN did make his first sculpture in sandstone. In 2001 he brought his first visit at Pietrasanta. There he was immediately in love with the marble Carrara Statuario, because of it's purity. For several years he started carving his sculptures at the professional studio Sem. Nowadays WIJNEN works at his oeuvre in his own studio in the neighbourhood of Pietrasanta.

Since 2006 his work can be found in private collections and in galleries in the Netherlands, France, United Kingdom and Italy.
